Senior Contract Administrator/Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Global Rail Australia Pty Limited is part of the Global Infrastructure Group and is a leading provider of services to clients across a range of engineering, construction and infrastructure sectors. The Group employs over 400 people worldwide and currently has offices in Ireland, the UK, Sydney and Melbourne.

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Contract Administrator\Quantity Surveyor with Estimating experience based at our office in Melbourne. The successful candidate will require a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost planning and estimating;
  • Preparing take-offs and remeasures;
  • Generating Bills of Quantities;
  • Preparing supplier contract documentation;
  • Contract administration from inception to project closeout;
  • Preparation of cost reports and cash flow forecasts;
  • Tender analysis and evaluation;
  • Sub-contractor commercial management;
  • Preparation of payment applications;
  • Preparation of variations and claims;
  • Management of third party claims and variations;
  • Liaise with logistics department to ensure cost effective and timely purchasing of materials and equipment
  • Develop and foster effective and regular communication with the Project Team including suppliers and clients
  • Prepare regular progress reports

What you will need:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Contract Administration or related discipline;
  • Have the ability to multitask, prioritise, meet deadlines and manage time efficiently
  • Excellent IT skills are a must for this position, specifically Excel
  • Experience in Microsoft Project desirable
  • Rail related experience highly desirable;
  • Background in Civil Engineering or Construction
  • Good communication skills;
  • Knowledge and experience using cost management software would be an advantage;
